I describe my particular practice of painting to be 'visionary' and I am inspired by the work of many Fantasy artists and Surrealists. My work also has a strong spiritual influence, as from a young age my mother would teach me about the universe and its cosmic powers, our connectedness with nature. Her involvement in spiritual development has grown over the years and continues to have an influence on my perceptions of life and awareness of our inner selves. She has opened my eyes to a search for spiritual and philosophical perspectives intended to transform ourselves and our world.
Our minds are the creators of our thoughts and dreams, which play an important role in our unconscious mind. My work is created from my own dreams and encounters in the astral realm and my photographs are a form of exploration for me. They are a reflection of my growing spirituality. I strive to recreate the feelings of freedom and adventure that I feel in my dreams when I create these works.

My works depict figures underwater which have a surreal, dreamlike quality and may suggest other dimensions. Their purpose is to drift within the image and create a sense of natural movement.

I recently became interested in underwater photography as another medium to help explore the sequence of my dreams. It allowed me to create the movements and gestures remembered from my dreams, which can be described as swimming through a thick atmosphere and suggesting the movement of flight. The weightlessness created by floating in water was the closest representation to gliding like I had in my dream.
